Probably most of you see a name for the first time, but Arakul lake is a haunt of fashion for many people. It is situated on the north of Chelyabinsk region between the mountains near the large village Vishnevogorsk, which is famous for its nature and rich “fishing” history.

What can woo tourists and tour-enthusiasts to this place? First of all it is surely local exciting nature. Mountains and forests – both conifer and leaf bearing forests — are all round Arakul lake. Indented coastal strip has made the multitude of little sloughes, each of which has its own name.

Arakul lake is so popular also for being a drainage lake, in other words the water is periodically being renewed here. Two rivulets — Olkhovaya and Kaganka rivers — fall into Arakul lake.

It goes without saying that the main point of interest here is a remarkable Arakulckiy Shikhan. Tourists from different regions come here just to touch this long-liver, which has seen even people of the Bronze Age. Arakulckiy Shikhan has took up a unique landform for its life long, on which the best natural sculptors has made the best – water and air. Everyone, having a rest on the landscape of the lake should cast a glance on the natural beauty of local places from the very height of Shikhan by all means.

But Arakul has won such affection of the tourists for not only amazing sceneries of its surroundings and the greatness of ancient Shikhan, but also for the possibility of good fishing. There are all fish species in the still lake: from traditional perches, crucians and pikes to white fishes, peleds and muksuns, which are rare here.

Arakul lake has been obtained a natural monument for its unique landmarks and now the picturesque surroundings and great Shikhan itself are cherished as the natural treasures.
